Trouble Sleeping???

 

Trouble sleeping??? for me not anymore.
I 1st heard about a brand called Feather & Down last year 2017, it was a brand that helps promote healthy sleeping habits. So me being a bad sleeper for well forever I thought I would look into it. I wasn’t convinced at 1st when reading reviews, so went and looked at the products. Wow what a lot of products and to be fair I did think this sounded like a lot of other products out there that well don’t do what it says on the packet.
Me being me I had to buy to try, just to see if they did work, BUT I had to wait, my daughter had gotten hold of my wish list for ideas for christmas arggggg.
Christmas came and I got a lovely gift set from feather & down. Pillow spray, All purpose sleep balm, bath essences & sleep mask.
Ok so those reviews for another time, after trying these products I jumped online to botts and had another nosey at the products and yes bought a few bits lol.
One of the products I bought was this Reed Diffuser.

I really did hum and arrr as the price tag is a hefty £18, but if it smelt anything like the balm and pillow spray I would be happy.
Ok so essential oils sleep aid comes in a beautiful frosted glass jar with 8 reed sticks.
The main ingredients are Lavender & Chamomile which helps promote calm and sleep.
The smell is quite strong and this worried me as I have a problem with strong smells in the bedroom, but I had to try and boy was I glad I did.
The oils fragrance the whole of my bedroom, I have what you would say the middle size bedroom and yet it still fragranced it all, the smell is beautiful, on occasion I would get a slight smell of Chamomile but Lavender all the time, I love the way my bedroom smells.
I decided not to use any other products for the 1st few days to see, now if anything could knock me out it would be Mick Tysons right hook 🙂
Here’s what I found:
I felt relaxed
Calm
quite peaceful
Not irritable
BUT NO EASY SLEEP OFF
So I brought in the pillow spray, after a few more days I noticed I was feeling rather tired quicker than normal. I started reading for 1 hour in bed so the diffuser would have more chance of getting into my brain than just getting into bed and fighting.
This defiantly helped me to sleep, I really did feel relaxed, calm and the tension would just seem to leave me within that hour of reading and soon I would be yourning for England.
I decided to try it in my daughter’s room as she had been suffering really bad with Anxiety and Lavender is a good calmer. After a few days my daughter said it really relaxed her, she felt her mind wasn’t running all over the place and didn’t need any other product to help sleep. Just the reed diffuser was enough for her.
So until the product had finished we shared it,  every other morning I would pop it in my room and by the time I had gotten home, my room smelt lovely.
So I can now say I take back my initial thoughts on this brand sounding like many others out there, because what makes this different is, it actually does do what it says on the packet, it helps promote sleep.
I have now ran out of this and waiting for so hero out there to buy me another one lol otherwise this is going on my wish list for my daughter to sneak in and look at and maybe just maybe I will be sleeping with my diffuser again at Christmas 🙂

Lee Stafford Hair products

Today is all about the hair.
For the last couple of months I have been trying hair products by the bucket load just to find some great products that actually work.
Today I give my opinion on Lee Stafford Hair Growth shampoo & Conditioner.
Now I know who Lee Stafford is due to a reality hairdressing program years ago and how he became famous for his fabulous styles, so when I came across this I thought hmmmm I would if this really will work.
firstly my daughter’s hair just doesn’t seem to grow and secondly will it strengthen my hair.
So me & my daughter put it to the test. Once a week using both products as directed. The shampoo says for maximum results shampoo twice, once to clean the grim out and second to stimulate the hair follicles to encourage growth.
I don’t need hair growth lol so I shampooed once and my daughter twice.
Then conditioning the hair you put conditioner in the palm of your hands and evenly put it through the hair. I let it on for around 5 minutes.
After rinsing I felt the squeaky clean feel, so this was a good start. Once dried my hair felt thicker had more volume and my curls bounced, great 🙂
My daughter bless her came down saying she looked like a clown because her hair had really puffed out, a lot of volume for such short hair 🙂 But she loved the way it felt.
Easy peasy and we carried on till we finished the bottles.

After a month of use my daughter’s hair had grown around 1 1/2 inches which she was over the moon because it hadn’t grown since 1966 🙂 ok slight exaggeration but if you listened to the consent moans you would feel like that too.
My hair had grown an inch too but for me the best results I found was my curls looked like bouncy curls again, not tumble weed flying across my face in the wind.
It felt clean, soft and so shiny it was fab.
My daughter on the other hand didn’t get much of a shine to her hair and it just seemed dull looking, but you could feel it was clean and sift and the main thing it had grown.

Yes this is a little on the expensive side, £7.49 a bottle and only 200ml. But I have to admit to see my daughter happy about her hair growing and my curls being curls I can’t complain really.

There is a negative unfortunately, I found the bottles to be thick hard plastic, so you couldn’t squeeze the product out and this is very frustrating because the last thing you need when having a bath is to fight with a pink annoying slippery bottle.
I ended up having to leave them upside down and keep popping the product bit by bit into a container. Not really what you want when you spend £15 on something.

The lighter the better :)

boy where do we start with face moisturiser, there is so many out there that we can get a little overwhelmed with not only the different types but with all the ingredients too.
I have seen arguments in shops where people are arguing with each other about what is best and whats not.

Is there actually a best for your face? Well yes because we all have different types of skin from sensitive to oily and all in between.
For me I have tried 100’s of brands (not joking) and I have found quite a lot to be brilliant, so why is it we find a great cream and still go out and want to find that perfect one 🙂

Ok so for me in the summer I have to have a light cream, I really do I don’t like to feel my face is caked in the summer and lots of creams will do this because of the heat or your bloating ect.
At the moment I am using elemis pro-collagen marine cream . It is such a light cream that absorbs so quickly into my skin. The lightness of the cream makes me feel like I have just washed my face, no heavy clogged feeling. It has a slight fragrance of rose but hasn’t affected my skin 🙂 I have found my skin has been glowing everyday through out the heat and sweat of the summer.
I have been using Elemis Products (qvc)  for a while now and had heard great things about their marine cream. So while this was on offer from QVC for £22 instead of £55 I jumped at the chance.

Lacura Sheet Mask

Hi beauties
Seems strange to have a title sheet mask, when it’s not a sheet i am not putting it on my bed lol
It’s another Lacura product and this time it is a face mask.

Yes Lacura have added yet another product to their range and at an affordable price.
It is a twin pack so if like me you have a daughter that loves face masks well your in luck or not so lucky lol. £1.99 for the 2 so basically £1 each.
There are 2 different types. 1 is aloe vera and this one chamomile extract.
I chose the chamomile as I like the scent and it states for dry & sensitive skin.
Ok so firstly when I opened this packet I noticed not a lot of liquid in the actual packet but plenty on the sheet, finally someone got this right as that really does annoy me.
2nd was it has a ble plastic backing which is fab again I am sick of trying to peel of the backs of these sheet masks only to pull and tear it. With this one it was easy it just slid off. The mask its self is thick so it doesn’t pull and tear when playing around placing it on your face.

This mask has Chamomile extract as I mentioned before, hyaluronic acid and moisturising serum. Claims to intensively moisturise and refresh the skin.
Place on your face for 15 minutes lay back and relax.
The scent is subtle and smells of chamomile, it soaks into my skin so easy and left it feeling soft and yes refreshed.
One little problem I had the next day was a really red large spot on the side of my nose. now I rarely get spots and when I do it is either a product or my period. This would have been the product. But having said that this is the only thing that I had negative about it.
It has got me thinking about the moisturising serum in this, I do wonder if it is a serum Lacura have brought out before, if it is they need to bring it out again. I do love the curee and cavier range so would be good to know.
As far as sheet masks goes this ticks all the right boxes and I have used many sheet face masks from different countries and this is a great one to try.
I will be stocking up on these before they run out as that is what happens with these products once they are gone they don’t bring them back.

Yet again Lacura has blown me away with a product that is so affordable.

LACURA Hot Cloth Cleanser

Been loving the products I have found in the last few weeks, especially trying them to see weather they are really worth our hard earned pennies.

Today is a new product from the Lacura skincare range.
Lacura is sold in Aldi and in the last year have brought out quite a few products and I have always tried to get my hands on them as soon as they are out.
This is another new product Hot Cloth Cleanser.
I do love a good cleanser and spend quite a few pennies on different brands, looking for the one. I know I will never find the one because well there are too many good cleansers on the market.

£4.99 for 200ml.
Comes in a plastic squeezable tube with a snap lid. Easy for people with not a lot of strength in hands. For all skin types.
Dermatological Tested.
Skincare with cocoa butter & eucalyptus oil and extracts of chamomile rosemary & white tea.
====================

White cleanser and quite a thick consistency, scent is subtle and defiantly smells of cocoa butter. Feels so creamy and goes on so smooth.
Rub it into your skin and place a warm muslin cloth on your face. Leave for a few minutes then rub your skin with the cloth and rinse off.
When done I always rinse my cloth with cold water and wipe across my skin.

Well what can I say this cleanser worked and felt just like another product I use that is 4 times as expensive. My skin didn’t get irritated or itchy, it didn’t  bring me out in blotches ethier.
My skin felt lovely and clean and really fresh afterwards and so soft for the next couple of days.
This is defiantly one to buy if your on a budget but also when you can spend lots of money on expensive cleansers, why? I have used this a few times now and I really don’t feel the need to run of and spend my normal £15-£25.

Size doesn’t matter

Hi Beauties.
Finally got round to buying a few bits again. There are so many products I have missed out on in the year and so many products that have launched this year that I had no choice but to a break and get ordering 🙂

Today’s post is on this beauty

From makeup Revolution I heart Revolution collection.
They have brought out mini palettes from the chocolate collection.
I absolutely love my big chocolate palette, so jumped at a chance of trying these smaller versions. I went for choc mint & Rose Gold. At £6 a palette why not.
So today is the turn of the rose gold palette.

Like all of the palettes from Makeup Revolution, these don’t come with names of each eyeshadow and I am pleased with that because well let’s be honest who keeps the plastic cover with the names on and who can remember all the names too lol.
So for £6 you get a beautiful looking palette (yes I am always drawn to the packaging I just can’t help it ) 8 eyeshadows. 2 shimmers and 6 matte.
these 8 colours really are different but really compliment each other, I love how they have thrown a dark mustard and light pink into the mix too.

The pigment from this brand is quite good, so again for £6 you know you are getting a great eyeshadow that lasts.
What frustrates me though is there is always 1 shadow that never seems to have any pigment to it…….. and this is the same with this palette. The last shadow is a dark pink shimmer but doesn’t come out very well on the eyes, you need to use a spray to help it. The shimmer is great to look at in the palette but on the eyes there really is nothing, but with Revolution it tends to be you can build and build on the colour yet this shadow just won’t play ball 😦
I have tried a pigment boost (that’s another post) and yes it works, it then comes out much stronger and you get a small amount of shimmer.

I have tried all the colours and I must say Revolution have done it again, they lasted well on the eyes, a fair few hours of colour is what we all want and they always deliver.
As long as you are not to heavy handed with the brush you don’t get fall out which is always great if you are one of those people who does their face first and eyes last.

So all in all, a winner again. Small compact and with a mirror, perfect for holidays, travelling or i you are short on storage space.
Cute packaging and 8 shadows.
I am looking forward to trying the mint choc one next and if all goers well the whole mini collection 🙂

I Finally Did It

Hi Beauties
Yes I am back 🙂 It has been a very long time since I last blogged, a lot has happened in my life to know really where to start. I have been doing the odd youtube videos but even that took a back seat for a while and I still haven’t managed to get fully back on track there too.
I am back now as I have wanted to get back here in the land pf blog for ages but just couldn’t find away of writing that made sense ( not that I make a lot of sense lol).
Now I am in my own space for blogging, I have a blogging/vlogging room, I am so proud of myself as I worked hard, saved hard and decorated hard to do this room and I intend to be in here quite a bit now doing what I love most and that’s talking to you guys about products I love or hate or well are just ermmm 🙂

My blogging room is the smallest room in my home, my son moved out 6 months ago and is very happy in his new adventure, so once I knew he was settled and wasn’t coming back (hope I am not talking too soon here ) I decided it was time to get this room into my own personal space.

Nearly finished here, need to hook the computer back up, put the mirror up and tidy the wires.

A few bits and bobs on there for now, but this is now where I can store products that have been sent to me or bought to review as well as my Mrs Potts and chip stuff lol 🙂

Still need to paint these units white, a place for peace and candles and storage for my over flow of products 🙂 Added canvas that I made ages ago but didn’t have the heart to let go off.

Last but not least my favourite part of the room, this beautiful frame my daughter sorted out and got me for Christmas.

So as you can see not only have I been busy decorating and almost organising, I know can lock myself away from the hustle and bustle of life and get blogging/vlogging on a regular basis.

Salon Science

Shall we talk about science? No? ok then lol, but we shall talk about salon science 🙂
I few months back I decided to join up for the Latest In Beauty box, a monthly box where you get to choose your own products. While prowling the products I came across salon science a spray for scalp relief. I had a read a decided to give it ago.

Hydrasoothe cooling spray.
:soothes and calms a distressed scalp
:Ultra-hydrating for instant moisture
:Protects against environmental stress.

I tend to use jojoba or moringa oil on my scalp as it really cleans the scalp of day to day oil, hairspray ect. But I don’t always have the time, so I thought this may be a handy thing to try. 1st the smell, it is not a strong smell but I swear it is baby powder, it is so subtle and makes me feel like I have just thrown talc in my hair.

Like everything I try, I wanted to make sure my scalp was ready for it, so I didn’t do my oil that week & to be honest for a while I have had this awful itchy patch on my head, that no matter what I couldn’t get rid of, so now was the perfect time.
I separated my hair so I could see my scalp and gave it a spray, it does slightly wet your hair, so after trying it a couple of times I found if you spray in sections and then use your 2 fingers and in circle movements give a little massage it tends to soak it up quicker.

It leaves a nice subtle smell to the roots but does take that horrible itchy feeling away, after about 3 days of a spray the patch has gone and 4 weeks later hasn’t returned.
I use this maybe a couple of times a week, when I feel my scalp getting irritated & within minutes it feels great again.

There is one down side to this spray and that is the next day my roots do look a bit greasy, but if I don’t have time to wash my hair nothing a good cotton pad wipe on the roots to clean away the oil helps.

A great formula that gives almost instant relief. Ideally I need a travel size one so if I am out and about I can just grab spray rub & go.

GOPO Joint Health

Hi Beauties
So as you know from time to time I get to review products for free & in return I give an honest and fair review. So today’s blog is all about GOPO Joint Health.

I found this to be an interesting one because as I am getting older I have started to get a few different pains that have nothing to do with the likes of arthritis. The doctors always say just take pain killers to help you through it. No thank you doctor I don’t want to rely on pain killers daily.

A few weeks ago these supplements arrived and I got to work, taking notes daily to see if there was any changes and if so how long and if they help.
So let me tell you a bit about them 1st.
INGREDIENTS
:Rose-hip
:Gelatin
:Vitamin C. (sodium ascorbate)
Content per capsule:
3g rose hip powder with 524pg of GOPO (glycoside of mono & diglycerol)
Also provides 40mg vitamin c.
Directions:
3-5 weeks 3 capsules twice daily.
Maintenance dosage. 2 capsules twice daily.
Taken with water or split capsule and add to food.

Now if your like many of us that don’t want to understand the jargon that comes with all these different products on the market and just want to see if our money is going pay for something to work then read on. Because I could sit here and right about all the in’s and out’s but that’s not what most people want to read.

I got to work straight away, I took the capsules out and popped them in my pill container so I didn’t forget to take them each day.  They are rather large which was a little scary lol.
I didn’t notice any thing at all for the first 8 days, but on the 9th day (remember I wrote daily notes) I felt just a slight less pain in my hip. Getting on/off a high stepped bus for a little person like me hurts especially when what I call a flare up of pain in my hip happens. When it does flare I tend to have to walk around for a while just to almost loosen it and then I walk with a slight limp for a while till it eases.

By day 11 I then noticed even less pain in my hip which really felt good, it didn’t feel as tight and I didn’t need to walk around for as long, I also noticed my wrist not clicking as much, yes I click lol because I spent many ours with my blogging at the computer I started to notice my wrist getting stiff and then clicking, after day 11 it really had change the feel of the wrist and my fingers too, its hard to explain but I just didn’t feel as stiff which in return was less clicking.

After 2 weeks of taking these capsules daily I noticed a big change in how I was feeling when I woke up, I ache I struggle coming down the stairs, I normally take one step at a time, but I have no need to now. I am no longer feel stiff, no I am not pain free every day but I can honestly say the pain is now just a slight dull feel that doesn’t need pain killers. I don’t limp with pain it is just again a dull pain that I do actually forget it is there.

Now 2 weeks ago I stopped taking them as I was going through a family crisis and everything went to pots. after a week of things starting to settle I noticed my hip starting to hurt more again and the limp omg the limp wouldn’t go away. I got straight back on these capsules and I am just starting to feel the ease again.

I have had a side affect to these capsules and that is my toilet run lol. I have IBS and normally anything new in my system causes me agony but actually this has had the opposite affect, it actually has helped me to go easy (yes we are talking about the toilet)
It seems to have helped with ease of going and on a daily bases. I don’t get the painful stomach aches that are a sign that I will be going to the toilet.  At 1st I did worry about this because I thought maybe my IBS will start to cause me more problems but after a few days it just became routine and now I can say yes it is definitely a side affect but a good one for me.

Has this made a difference to my life YES 100%, it has worked far better than some of the brand supplements I have tried over the years. I can honestly say that the rose-hip powder combined with vitamin C is a must for any body but even more so for us with a few years added to us.
I will be keeping up with these capsules & will update if there is any more changes.
